Portadown was the location of Sam McGredy's Nurseries in Ireland. We might assume this is one of his creations. The rose is pretty, shell pink flushed with pale yellow at the base. It is presumably fragrant. The blossoms are set off to perfection by glossy green foliage with an olive tinge.
Is this rose better than the welter of subsequent Hybrid Teas in the same color range and bearing 'Fragrance' in their names? We'll get back to you on that. Until then, suffice it to say that this is a very lovely blossom. |
