Penelope is one of a handful of roses dealt a straight flush. It is foliferous, the flowers are fragrant, the plant is shrubby and well foliaged, it is remontant, it is disease free, and it will tolerate a considerable amount of shade. The only thing Penelope does not have going for her is that sometimes her white flowers can look, well, ordinary. It therefore takes some time for rose lovers to learn enough about roses to start appreciating all her virtues. ARS members rate Penelope 8.8. |
