Low Roses | Bushes | Shrubs | Climbers
|As we prepare to celebrate the 60 th year of Peace in the USA, let us contemplate first how good it is: well branched and foliaged, huge blooms good color, pretty good health.
Let us contemplate the harmful side effects of its stunning success: total focus on introducing hybrid teas of novel colors, reliance on harmful chemicals to keep bad roses alive, boring monoculture in the rose world. And we forgot roses should smell good.
Peace is rated 8.3 by ARS members, making it a pretty good choice even for novice gardeners.
