Iceberg has been the standard of comparison for foliferous white roses. It is on every rosarian's top ten list: getting anyone to grow another white floribunda has been for five decades an uphill battle. Is Mount Hood its first good match? It vigorous, well branched and foliaged, very healthy, and foliferous. In fact, the way that Mt Hood holds its flowers apart from each other is more attractive than the way Iceberg tends to smash them together.
Mount Hood is said by Botanica to have excellent disease resistance. It won an AARS award in 1996. Despite these accolades ARS members rate it 6.9. |
