Medallion can produce some of the largest flowers in rosedom, but her flexible canes may not be able to support them, especially if they fill with rain. This I have heard, and it strikes me as a somewhat fatuous complaint. The rose is a pretty pale apricot and is borne against dark green foliage. Medallion won an AARS award in 1973 and has been widely distributed in the US. There is some hidden problem, however, because the rose gets just 6.9 from ARS members. Perhaps it needs Mediterranean climates or excessive coddling to thrive. |
