One well-grown Climbing Iceberg probably manages to produce more flowers in a day than some hybrid tea beds produce in a whole season. At Garden Valley Nursery we see it trained on pergolas.
Fortunately this sport of Iceberg retains that cultivar's vigor, healthiness, fragrance, disease-resistance, and high floral production continuity. If you want to produce a sense of shady coolness in a hot garden, than to surround the area with a lattice and train climbing Iceberg on it. There is an excellent shot of this on pg 452 of Sterling Macoboy's Ultimate Rose Book. ARS members rate it 8.6. |
