Low Roses | Bushes | Shrubs | Climbers
|One could not plant Helmut Schmidt next to Charles de Gaulle: they would clash! So at Vintage Gardens they are across the path from each oher.
ARS members rate a number of yellow hybrid teas more highly than Helmut Schmidt, but there is a kind of perfection to this rose that transcends rating. It's the perfect shade of imperial yellow, the perfect shape of high-centered bloom. It opens to a gorgeous giant of a blossom, and the whole thing is framed with lovely, glossy, dark green foliage on a bush that is not too high and nicely branched. And it's one of seven roses that always look good in photos.
ARS members rate it a respectable 7.2.
