Granada has proven a remarkably enduring rose. It is one of the few roses inspired by Peace that can survive being compared to it. Its open blossoms are as attractive as its high-centered buds. And the combination of colors to be found in one blossom is remarkable. It won the AARS prize in 1968, five years after its introduction by Lindquist. It is relatively vigorous and healthy - though it does get mildew: ARS members rate it 7.9 There's a lesson in breeding here. Tiffany, the seed parent is one more pretty pink HT; Pollen parent Cavalcade is an interesting if undistinguished floribunda. |
