If one sprays and if one wishes to have a garden spot awash in the cool, crisp yellow flowers provided by Gold Badge, then this is a spectacularly good choice. The rose produces massive numbers of flowers and can single-handedly carry the garden for weeks.
I happen to find its unique, wavy petals especially attractive. Its blend of qualities make it photogenic from near or far - a quality quite rare in roses. And it is fragrant. But in hot, damp weather look out. Gold badge is a martyr to black spot - so spray religiously or watch your roses dwindle to mulch before your very eyes. ARS members rate it 6.9. |
