Sometimes good roses have difficulty reaching their audience because of the popularity of their parents. This rose descends from famous roses Fragrant Cloud and Maria Callas ( now registered and sold as Miss All American Beauty.)
Friendship manages to distill and combine the qualities of its parents in the ways that seem most predictable. Its coloring is a warm pink that lies somewhere between the colors of parents, its health is excelent, and the large blossoms are quite fragrant. ARS members give it 7.3. Botanica claims it is without health problems. It is some surprise then that it is so hard to come by. Perhaps it is difficult to propagate, or it is not very foliferous. Most likely it was not backed by the right marketing organization. |
