The world is not chock-full of primrose hybrid tea roses. So even if this were not and especially good rose, it might be on the short list of good primrose roses. And I think this is the case. Botanica says "This excellent rose is extremely tall and produces continuous supplies of long-stemmed roses from spring to winter.... It has not received the acclaim it deserves." In San Jose it looked very healthy, vigorous, and well-foliaged. It won an AARS award in the year of its introduction, 1952. Then, it disappeared from commerce. Today it is available only from Vintage Gardens. ARS members rate it 5.2. Presumably it is not a good choice for humid conditions. |
