All three of the Crimson Bouquet I planted last year were so savagely attacked by blackspot that I gave them up for dead. It's possible that given TLC for a few seasons it will outgrow its tendency to drop its leaves for the season in mid July. At this point I'd rate it about 5.8. It has all the disadvantages of a hybrid tea, and most of the disadvantages of a floribunda. It does look pretty with leaves of mullien (verbascum bombyciferum) in the background. But so would geraniums - that's probably what they'll get replaced with. |
