Low Roses | Bushes | Shrubs | Climbers
|The flowers are not much more than an inch and a half across, but Charisma makes masses of them and it is these many large clusters that captivate. The flowers are pure gold when they open. They quickly blush to vermilion. As the yellow pigment fades they turn scarlet bordering on dark coral. All the colors work together very well.
On the down side, the rose generally makes two significant flushes of blooms each year, and the rose is not quite so well branched and densely foliaged to make a good ground cover.
As for health, it's hard to say. Be prepared for black spot. ARS members rate it 6.9, and it won an AARS award in 1974.
